Expenses
The Chrysalis School relies on student fees to cover its operating expenses. However, the school does not yet have enough students registered to cover its monthly expenses and the deficit is currently being covered with the director’s personal funds. Our main concern for the moment is coming up with enough money to pay the rent for the school building and teachers’ salaries.
Please consider making a donation, large or small, to support the school’s mission.
Future Projects
Should the school receive more money than required to meet its monthly expenses, those funds would go to the following projects:
- Scholarships for students who can not afford to pay the school fees
- Building up the school library, which currently consists of just a few shelves of books donated to the school or belonging to the director and her children.
- Extracurricular activities, including courses in Kabary Malagasy (the traditional Malagasy speech style used for special occasions) and Malagasy handicrafts, both of which are skills that could bring income to students later in life.
- Opening the library and language courses to all the children of Ivato, regardless of which school they attend.
- New school building -- eventually building a new school building, which would be owned by the school, eliminating the monthly expense of renting its classrooms.

Other Needs
In addition to financial support, the school would greatly appreciate donations of the following materials:
- Teaching materials preferably in French, but English books are also helpful:
- Short stories
- Books -- Fiction and non-fiction
- Audio and visual aides for French and English language lessons
- Office supplies
- Photocopier
- Sports equipment
